The Boppy Pillow
65
When I was shopping for baby stuff before my son was born, I saw the Boppy Pillow and figured I'd give it a try. I did not know anyone that had it so I decided on purchasing it because of the advertisement. I had no idea what a life saver the Boppy would be!
Reasons to Love the Boppy Pillow
First and foremost the Boppy has been perfect for breastfeeding! Even when my son was a newborn it made breast feeding so much easier. I did have to put another pillow under it to raise it until he got bigger. Having had a c-section, holding him without the support of the Boppy Pillow would've been uncomfortable. When he fell asleep eating I was able to keep him on my lap so I didn't have to disturb him until I was ready to get up. You should never let your baby sleep on the pillow unless it is around your waist and you are keeping an eye on baby! You can also bottle feed your baby while they are in the pillow.
Being able to use the pillow anywhere is also a plus! The Boppy fits around your waist so it doesn't take up a bunch of room on your lap. I can even use the Boppy Pillow in the recliner. I brought it on my son's first 5 hour trip and was able to use it in the car when we stopped to feed him. The pillow comes in a plastic zipper bag so you can store it without worrying about getting it dirty.
The Boppy has a removable zipper cover so it is easily washable. I have never had problems with my cover shrinking after multiple washes. The pillow itself is also washable. It is recommended you put a tennis ball in the dryer wil the pillow so it holds its shape. There is also a large selection of Boppy Pillow covers available to purchase.
When you are done feeding baby you can sit them in the Boppy, keeping them upright and aiding in easy digestion. Use the Boppy to set your baby in while you are busy or to prop them up to take pictures. The pillow is also great to lean baby up for tummy time. You should never leave your baby unattended in the Boppy or set them in it anywhere but the floor!
Cons of the Boppy Pillow
The Boppy pillow and the covers are fairly expensive. The pillow can run between $30 and $40. Covers generally run about $25. Pillows with covers vary in prices depending on the type of cover you get with it.
When baby is a newborn the pillow may be a little low to have them level with the breast. You can use another pillow to prop the Boppy up or use your arm to hold them up.
Other than those two issues, I can't think of any other reason not to invest in the Boppy Pillow!

I absolutely LOVED my boppies! They are a must-have for all new moms, for certain! I love how easy they are to clean, as well. We still have ours. The kids used them with their stuffed animals & as pillows. GREAT PRODUCT.
The Boppy saved my back, neck & shoulders. I breastfed all of my children and took the Boppy with me on ALL trips.
To me, the $30-40 investment is more than worth it in the physical benefits, convenience... and as mentioned, we used the boppies even after the feeding-assistance was no longer needed.
